Opgang door Agnes van Bekkum

Opening van deze zondag met muziek, rechtstreeks vanuit onze studio. Deze aflevering is samengesteld door Agnes van Bekkum.

Vandaag is het de vierde zondag na Trinitatis en daarnaast de eerste zondag van de zomer. Georg Friedrich Händel schreef elf Psalm Chandos Anthems, (liturgische muziekstukken) voor de hertog van Chandos bij wie hij een aantal jaren in dienst was als componist. De Chandos Anthem die voor vandaag gekozen is heet O come, let us sing unto the Lord. Händel gebruikte versen uit psalm 95, 96, 97, 99 en 103 voor deze compositie.
